Five to six layers of soft old vintage sari cloth are embroidered together to form a quilt or tapestry. The entire cloth is covered with running stitches for an even feel. Threads are taken from the colored borders of the saris for this purpose. It usually takes a group or 4-5 women around seven days to complete a VINTAGE SARI KANTHA.
At times you may find some patches on these vintage saris, which is a process of restoration and is a mark of genuine VINTAGE.
