6 tricks to sleep well in your bedroom
Sleeping well is essential for a healthy life and the benefits of doing so go far beyond depriving us of sleep. From reducing stress and certain diseases, helping to improve mood or maintain weight , to making you more creative and efficient thanks to brain rest. Having a restful sleep is so important that it is worth paying attention to the details that can help us achieve it.How is the ideal room to sleep well? Those small gestures that help us sleep better are also found in our bedroom and we ourselves are responsible for carrying them out. That is why today we will review six simple but effective tricks that will contribute to achieving that comforting rest that benefits us so much on a day-to-day basis.6 changes in the bedroom that help you sleep betterIf you are wondering how to sleep better or what to put in the room to sleep well, do not miss these tips. They are very easy to carry out and will not take up too much time in your daily life.Renew the mattress and pillowsThis point is not in dispute: if you do not have the right mattress and pillows for you , you will sleep worse. It is important, in addition to adapting to the needs of each one, to renew them from time to time. Many times we forget or are lazy to change the mattress every 10 years (as is advisable) for economic reasons, but today it is easy to find cheap and quality mattresses at the same time, so there are no excuses. In the case of pillows , although they are washable, they should be renewed more often, approximately every 2 years according to experts in the field.Choose a relaxing decorationOf course, we could not leave the decoration of the bedroom out, but apart from the fact that we like it, it is also important to sleep well. Creating a pleasant and comfortable environment is essential to reach the most relaxed moment of closing your eyes, so the decoration does count. The main bases to follow at this point are: do not clutter the room, maintain order and, in the most aesthetic case, choose calming colors such as blue or green.Avoid ambient noiseIt seems obvious, but it is something that we do not always comply with. Not having unnecessary noise at bedtime helps to fall asleep and makes it more restful. To achieve this, we can use decorative tricks such as rugs to reduce noise pollution in the room. But also close the windows and turn off all electronic devices (except the alarm, unfortunately and by obligation). By the way, if after what has been said you were wondering where to put the TV, the answer is clear: in the living room .Dim the lightingBeyond having some nice lamps that we like (which we also recommend), the bulb they use is also important. So that when we get to bed the light does not wake us up too much and helps us to arrive more relaxed to the dream we are looking for, the lighting in the bedroom should be in yellow or orange tones . Nothing better than a dim light before going to bed, but remember that as soon as it's time to close your eyes, the lights go out. Both not leaving the light on and using low-consumption light bulbs contribute to better sleep and also, incidentally, to saving electricity (something that also helps to fall asleep...).Maintain a suitable temperatureAnother important trick when trying to sleep well is to keep the bedroom at a suitable temperature. For experts this temperature would be around 20 degrees , being able to raise or lower a couple of them depending on each person. Although sometimes it is complicated, what it is about is having the environment of the room at those degrees on a regular basis, not sleeping buried in blankets against the cold and obtaining that temperature only under them, for example.purify the airFinally, never forget a detail that is as hygienic and effective as it is simple: ventilate the room. This is the basic part to be able to purify the air that we are going to breathe and it will facilitate our restful sleep. As is generally recommended in the house, a mere 20 minutes will be enough to ventilate the bedroom and clean the environment. To purify it even more, we can use something as decorative as a plant ( yes, you can sleep with them as long as you don't turn the room into a jungle).

Storage rooms are very useful spaces that can be used a lot, especially when we have a small home. They are a great solution to the lack of storage space , which usually happens to the inhabitants of large cities due to the limited size of their homes. But these spaces have more utilities than that. They can also help us when we need a place to store our belongings for a limited time , such as when we are going to move or reform our house.Another need that storage rooms cover is not so much to serve us to add space to our home on a day-to-day basis, but to store things that we do not use on a regular basis . We have all decided at some point not to throw away objects such as furniture, clothes or toys, even if we no longer use them. Perhaps we will do it to donate them to the next generation or for the reason that all fashion returns...Be that as it may and serve us for what they serve us, it is clear that storage rooms are useful to us on many occasions, so they also deserve a little love from us. That is why we are going to review some tips to know how to decorate a storage room and keep it in order .How to decorate a storage room and keep it organizedUse containers that you likeSince we are surely going to use our storage room as a space to store things, we need containers to put them in so that they are not collecting dust and not being placed . While it is true that to store belongings such as bedding it is better to use airtight boxes or vacuum bags, for the rest we can be more creative. Baskets, jars and decorative boxes are very useful for storing small things and they can also give style to any corner if they are pretty and combine with each other . This advice is valid for any part of the house, including the storage room.Label and classifyWe continue talking about containers to store things, but now thinking about organization and practicality. Apart from us liking them and being decorative, it is a great idea to add a label with what they contain . This way of storing also helps us maintain order and classify our belongings according to some criteria (winter clothes, toys, Christmas decorations,...). In this way we will know where everything is stored without having to open each box and, in addition to keeping the storage room organized, we will also save time when looking for anything.Personalize your shelvesIf the storage room is not very large, as is usual, we must think carefully about how we distribute it. Before placing an organization system or a shelf or closet, it is a good idea to think about what type of belongings we are going to store . Maybe we only need shelves for bulky boxes, or maybe what we are looking for are hanging hooks , or a combination of both. But if we adjust to our specific needs , we will save space and achieve more order.Add your personal decorative touchOf course, like everywhere in your house, if you want a place to be comfortable when you see it, you have to put it to your liking . The storage room does not have to be an exception to this advice, since it will be more pleasant and less tedious to go to get something in it if it is a place that pleases your eyes. Do not hesitate and give your storage room a facelift with a personal touch of decoration , so at least the time to collect the coats because the good weather is over will be somewhat less hard...

These trends are the minimalist ones , which achieve that functional and organized effect that we are looking for today. What are the minimalist trends for the home?Decorating minimalist homes can be a challenge, but we can always get ideas from trends that add basic and functional elements, but also add a nice touch to the space. To follow this philosophy, interior designers recommend the “less is more” rule , so that the space looks clean, organized, functional, aesthetic and comfortable. But since not everything is reduced to that, we are going to review some of the minimalist trends of this year.Kitchen roomThe minimalist style kitchen is committed to a clean design , with straight lines and without saturation, always seeking order in space. One option is natural wood drawers with simple designs and optimized in size, avoiding cluttering the room. Light tones in their natural state fill the kitchen with comfort, as well as giving them a modern style. A sliding door with access to the garden or another adjoining place can also be placed to better optimize the space.BathroomsIn the bathroom you can place shelves made of natural wood and bathroom organizers with drawers. These elements offer a creative style to the space in the most practical way, although we will save space if we install the shelves and organizer boxes on the walls , above the furniture.Living roomOther spaces to decorate in the home are the living room and the dining room. Natural flowers can add the finishing touch to your home decorThey serve to give color to spaces, as well as fragrance and a touch of distinction. It is advisable to choose flowers from the area and the season . For example, this time of year in Europe there are a lot of tulips, daffodils, buttercups, anemones and hyacinths. Also resort orchids.Avoid tropical plants, such as the bird of paradise (strelitzias), the amber cane, the heliconias or the protea ( if we live in America, the rule is the other way around ).It is also interesting to be careful not to mix too many varieties – a large bouquet of all one kind of country flowers can be more attractive than a bouquet bought from a florist that claims to include several varieties and colors of flower. How to cut the stems for a flower arrangement:Cut about 2.5cm from the stem (those with woody stems, such as roses, should be cut diagonally to maximize the surface area open to water.Change the water daily and cut them back each time the water is changed. It will make them last longer. Arrange flower bouquets:With a little dexterity, the idea is to place them in your hand in a spiral , so that each new stem is at a slanted angle to the previous one. It is the way to form a beautiful 'dome'.If you are not able to do it, just place them on a surface and cut them all to the same length, then gather them together and put them in a vase. They should fit pretty well. Where to put the flowers:The value of the container is often underestimated, when in fact it is as important or more than the flowers.A basic set is needed:A cylindrical vase with straight walls, about 80 x 15cm, for long-stemmed plants such as lilies, amaryllis or gladiolus.A square pot, which looks great on coffee tables, for spring flowers fairly trimmed so that they just stick out over the edge.A round fishbowl , which can be filled with a few flexible stems such as those of tulips, orchids or calla lilies (put the stem in 1 inch of water and swirl the flower heads around the inside of the glass for a greater impact with less). A vase of about 10cm at the neck and wider at the bottom, ideal for any hand bouquet that they give us (do not cut the strap that ties the bouquet until it is placed in the vase). Keep the vase water clean:There is a little trick that consists of using sterilizing tablets . Put a quarter of a tablet in a normal sized vase to keep the water clean and free of bacteria. This helps the plants last longer and does not harm them at all.The heat makes them bloom earlier and, therefore, wither earlier , so you should put them in a cool place, away from radiators, so they last longer. Some florists sell a sachet to put in the water and prolong the life of the flowers . If this is not your case, you can add a teaspoon of sugar. elegant and cheapA good idea for a dinner party is to use many small individual vases (each with a single stem inside) and place them huddled together in the center of the table. You can also use glasses, small jugs, candle holders, milk bottles, glass jars, etc. Instead of throwing them away, they can be recycled to be used as cups....
